In the following, "**[A]**" refers to the required course textbook,
* Elementar Linear Algebra (9th ed.)*, by Howard Anton.
[You may use either the "standard" or "applications" version of this
text, they are identical for the part of the book we will cover.

*Read (in***[A]**):- §§3.1 & 3.2

*Exercises:*- start the exercises due next Monday.

**Test I**will be on**Monday, February 4th in class**. It is a closed-book and -notes test.

**Test II**will be on**Friday, February 29th**(*Leap Day!*) in class. It is a closed-book and -notes test, covering all of Chapter 1 — in particular, you**are responsible**for the material in the §1.7 homework due next Monday.- Here is a review sheet for the second midterm test.
- There will be a review in class on Wednesday -- please start the §1.7 homework (see next week's schedule) by then, in case there are issues about that material which we need to discuss.
