You may complete missing or revise faulty work on the CIS Major Projects 1-3 for up to half of the points you lost the first time. For example, if you got 50 out of 100 (a solid F) on your Project 1, you can get up to 25 points added to this by doing a careful revision, meaning your score would be 75 (a solid C). Likewise, if your grade was a B, you can pull it up to an A, etc. (do the arithmetic!).
In almost all cases, what cost students points in the CIS projects was failing to do part of the assignment. The feedback you got on drafts and with the grade for those projects should have indicated what was missing, but if there is any question, please contact your instructor for details.
Another thing to do is to look over the assignment sheets themselves, which can be found on the maestro.net main page. Your English and History classes this summer emphasized close reading and rhetorical analysis: do that for the assignments and you will be more sure of what you need to do. For example, when doing the "Security Letter" journal entry as part of CIS Major Project 3, as described here, many students lost points because they talked a lot about various issues of safety on the Internet, but not the points you were specifically asked to address. Correcting this could get a lot more points for many students!
You may revise (or complete) any part or parts of the CIS Major Projects that you like, including several parts from more than one Project, if you so choose. When you have completed a revision, however, you must send an email to your instructor telling briefly what you have revised (or completed), what was missing before, and what you have done now.
As mentioned above, you are encouraged to be in contact with you CIS instructor before and during revisions. You can find out what you would need to do to get those points, share drafts of revisions for comments, and get lots of other help in this process, simply by emailing your instructor.
